How Click and Collect Check-In Increases In-Store Sales

Click and Collect your way to retail victory! The order pickup service is growing exponentially. In 2021 alone, Click and Collect transactions accounted for nearly 10% of retail ecommerce sales across the whole of America. Now, Qudini’s Click and Collect Check-in System is set to take the service to new heights. 

 

What’s wrong with your current Click and Collect System? 

Enterprise retailers need the best technology. Unfortunately, if your Click and Collect System doesn’t digitize the check-in process, it’s already out of fashion. 

Here’s a scenario to explain why:

The typical consumer, Jayran, is short on time. She’s hoping for a quick in-and-out job to collect an order from your store. She’s gutted when she rushes into your store only to see a long queue of customers in front. She hasn’t even checked in yet. 

By the time she reaches the check-in counter, fifteen minutes have passed and she’s becoming stressed. The associate asks for her order details and Jayran feels flustered. She can’t remember her order number. It takes her a while to dig through her emails. All the while, she can feel other frustrated customers impatiently waiting behind her. 

Jayran’s heart sinks when the store associate tells her that someone in the warehouse will find her order–she assumed her order would be waiting at the front of house for her already. When her order is eventually located and brought to her, Jayran can’t help but feel that she wasted all that time queuing up while the store team could have been finding her order. 

Next time, she thinks to herself, she’ll just order on Amazon. 

 

How does the Qudini Click and Collect Check-in process work?

Before Jayran even enters the store, she scans a QR code on a poster in the car park to check in. She also could have checked in via an email link, SMS code, touchscreen kiosk or from the store host. It’s nice to have options.

As she walks into the store, she doesn’t need to go through the hassle of finding her order number again for the store team–they’ve been working behind the scenes to prepare her order ever since she checked in. Within seconds of entering the store, a store associate passes over her order and her service is complete. Jayran is thrilled with how quickly she was attended to. 

Now, let’s say the store was experiencing a particularly busy period. With the old Buy Online Pickup In-Store System, Jayran would have had to waste time standing in a queue to check-in before a store associate would know to prepare her order. By contrast, with Qudini’s Order Pickup System, Jayran and all the other queuing customers could separately check-in via phone, kiosk or a host with a tablet without going to a C&C desk so that the store team could prepare their parcels immediately. 

Essentially, Qudini has removed three time-consuming steps out of the standard click and collect process. For example, store associates no longer need to locate the customer or take their order details. Instead, they can find multiple orders at once when customers check-in via Qudini’s tablets. 

In fact, customers don’t even need to leave their car thanks to our curbside pickup service. They can check-in by phone or kiosk in the carpark and a store associate will bring their parcel straight to them.
