Mr. Ward is the third Bahamas based insurance executive in the organization’s 50-year history to hold this post.
He will serve as President for the period commencing 2023 through 2025. Mr. Ward has served as a member of the Board of the IAC since 2019.
The IAC is a professional body dedicated to promoting and fostering the advancement of the Caribbean insurance industry through research, education and advocacy, in order to create a platform for regional harmonization and integration in the industry. The organization has more than 70 member companies operating in various types of insurance sectors in most of the territories of the Caribbean, Europe, United States and Canada.
Mr. Ward said, “I am deeply honoured to have been elected as IAC president. With the critical issues currently facing our industry regionally and internationally, the IAC’s role as advocate for the insurance sector and the customers we serve is more important than ever. The work that we do as insurance professionals plays a critical role in providing financial resilience for the national economies of our member organizations through the provision of safeguards for families and local businesses. My priority is to continue the significant contributions that we have made historically as a body in this regard. I also wish to thank past president Musa Ibrahim for his strong leadership and the contribution that he has made to our industry during his mandate as IAC president.”
